resilience, kinship, water, fire, ash, creatures, field work

I’ve spent a long time trying to understand California landscapes, rivers, and creatures, past and present.  I’m fascinated by moments when the barriers between species seem to disolve, or when my own perspective submerges in its surroundings. At the same time, I question those moments in wilderness as a space of the settler/colonial imaginary.
